An electrical system has three wires. The live wire provides power. The neutral wire completes the circuit. The earth wire rarely receives attention because it does not make the appliance work. Yet when a fault occurs, the earth wire protects life. Development follows the same principle. Economic growth is the live wire. Technology is the neutral wire. Values are the earth wire. A country may continue functioning without strong values, just as electricity continues flowing without proper grounding. Every educational institution should adopt one hour each week called the Grounding Hour. Students work on community problems instead of examinations. They identify local challenges, propose practical solutions, present their ideas publicly and reflect on the ethical consequences of their decisions.
